During the intake phase, we should have determined a very clear picture of exactly where you are as an organization, and we should already have a flurry of ideas about the pieces of that puzzle that do and don’t fit our plan for the future. We will start this phase with our full Company Health Report of all business functions in hand, as well as our people and process maps that capture the working pieces of the business.
Often, seeing the maps of people and processes in your business, as they currently exist can be really helpful in getting a quick read of which of those parts aren’t working. Often we see people wearing too many hats or juggling too many reports, or limited tools or training carrying too much load. By putting everything on paper, in clear simple terms, our action items become much easier to see.
You’ll also have a suggested plan of action, from Arcade, outlining the issues we see, in order of priority, and exactly the actions we recommend taking to remedy those issues for each Sprint for the next year. During the Sprint planning phase, we work through that list, building a custom plan that suits your vision, your goals, and your budget.
At the end of this process, we’ll have a clear plan of action, and all of the tools we need to maximize our success at implementing it.
With the right planning beforehand, we can prepare ourselves and our people for the upcoming changes, and get an enthusiastic team behind our efforts, so that the process of change is energizing and dynamic, instead of a drain on morale.
From here, we move on to Step Three – Start Sprinting!
